Waldo-Inspired Art Featured in New York Magazine!

Waldo is making the news not just for his birthday, check out what New York Magazine had to say about him:

With the financial markets in chaos and pin-striped Jeremiahs appearing on cable TV to herald the End of Things As We Know Them, it can be easy to fall into daydreams of a full-on societal breakdown lurking around the corner. Just in time, Toronto-based artist Keith Jones has unveiled a series of drawings that brings out the playful side of the apocalypse, with Where’s Waldo?–style scenes of colorful people driven to desperate acts in refuse-littered cityscapes. So where is Waldo? Probably holed up in his basement with stockpiled canned goods and a sawed-off Remington pump action. On view at Fuse Gallery through October 18.

The World Goes Waldo Crazy!?

Apparently I’ve been spotted on a rooftop… or a virtual rooftop… which is it? Regardless, people are talking, and they all think they’ll find me soon…from the WhereOnEarthIsWaldo Blog

The blog posts about Waldo keep flooding in! There is far more than I can list here but highlights from the past few days include Wired (US), GQ, Google Earth Blog, The Mail on Sunday (UK), IOL Diaro (Portugal), Gizmodo, Mineki (Japan/Canada) and even my school, Emily Carr Institute has blogged about it.

Wow, that’s me. Cool. I <3 Melanie Coles.
